All in all, if your 3.0T car is getting to be higher mileage, maybe 65k or so and you notice your shifting gets rough, idle is shaky, and know that motor mounts are a common failure, get the motor mounts replaced. Also applies to the 3.0 TDI. Had my mounts changed at 55k because passenger side was leaking.
Couple of unusual issues on my car with 60k on clock: 1) petrol lock actuator failure (repaired under warranty) 2) window regulators (repaired under warranty) 3) rear reverse light - wire in harness replaced (diy) 4) limp mode under spirited acceleration - turned out to be clogged fuel filter. A5 3.0 TDi Quattro Sport.
